Russell Link
Russell Link is an urban wildlife biologist with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife's (WDFW) North Puget Sound regional office in Mill Creek. A native of the San Francisco Bay area, Link studied wildlife biology at the University of Montana and earned a bachelor of science degree in landscape architecture from the University of California at Davis. He has owned a landscape contracting firm, a wholesale nursery, and served as a wildlife education coordinator at the Audubon Canyon Ranch north of San Francisco. Russell began work with WDFW 12 years ago and also has taught part time in the horticulture program at Edmonds Community College and has taught wildlife-related courses through the University of Washington. He is the author of Landscaping for Wildlife in the Pacific Northwest and Living with Wildlife in the Pacific Northwest (both University of Washington Press and WDFW). He is also the Coordinator of the popular “Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary Program” run by the State of Washington. Website – www.wdfw.wa.gov

Learn from examples of several Northwest gardens that feature well-designed and maintained wildlife enhancement features, including specialty gardens.
