Dr. Linda Chalker-Scott

Dr. Linda Chalker-Scott has a Ph.D. in Horticulture from Oregon State University and is an ISA certified arborist.  She is an Associate Professor of Horticulture at Washington State University and the Extension Urban Horticulturist at WSU’s Puyallup Research & Extension Center, where she provides expertise to WSU Master Gardeners and the nursery and landscape industry.  Her research includes development of scientific, sustainable practices for landscape management in urban environments.  She presents seminars to a variety of non-academic audiences and writes a monthly on-line column dedicated to exposing horticultural and arboricultural myths.  In recognition of her educational outreach activities, she was named Washington State Nursery and Landscape Association’s Educator of the Year in 2002, and in 2004 received an honorable mention from the Environmental Education Association of Washington.
