Alison Kutz-Troutman

Alison Kutz-Troutman of Sound Horticulture and Cascade Cuts brings the hands-on how and why of compost teas to the table. From her practical background as a professional greenhouse grower for over 25 year, to her field work with many crop systems, her experience with plant health and organic strategies brings us a rich tapestry of both science and practical take-home ideas for the green professional.  Many people know Alison for her many talks she has given on herbs over the years, or her work with biological controls.  Understanding compost teas and how they integrate with other materials has become a passionate study for Alison, and through this presentation you will gain a better understanding of how these natural tools work together in synergy, and how using them can increase the efficiency of your business.

 

Ladd Smith

In 1994 Ladd Smith co-founded In Harmony, a provided of organic based landscape services, out of his lifelong passion for protecting the environment.  In Harmony has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Washington State Governor’s Award, the Five Star Envirostar and the Northwest Environmental Guide’s Environmental Achiever of the Year Award.  Ladd is a sought-after speaker on various organic landscaping topics.  He is the Secretary of the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals and is a Board member of Green Meridian, a new non-profit organization dedicated to sound environmental practices in the landscape industry.  He has been a regular presenter for King County’s highly successful Natural Yard Care Neighborhoods program for the past three years.  Website – www.inharmony.com
