Greg Rabourn

Greg Rabourn’s passion for native plants collided with his dislike of mowing eight years ago. He has been practicing and preaching native plant and low-maintenance landscaping techniques ever since.  As the Program Manager for the King County Naturescaping and Native Plant Salvage Program he organizes volunteer efforts to rescue native plants before they are bulldozed for development. He is the author of Going Native: A Guide to Creating Your Own Native Plant Landscape (King County, 2003).  He has made numerous TV and radio appearances, including “Gardening with Ciscoe,” Peter Punzi’s “Horticulture Guy” and “Backyard Habitats.” He is a member of the Garden Writers Association and the Society for Ecological Restoration.  He spends his free time gardening at his home in Buckley where he built a native plant treatment system for his wastewater.
