Creating Abundance in the Smaller Garden
Friday, February 10 at 7:00 pm in the Rainier Room
‘Abundance’ is an attitude of living in the garden, cherishing plants, and combining art and horticulture to reflect one’s personality. Learn how to revel in it! Abundant gardens range from traditional cottage gardens to flamboyant tropical displays (with lots in between). This seminar reveals the nine essential elements of an abundant garden with an emphasis on fully developed plantings, strong, impressive plant species, in plentiful quantities, in scale with today’s smaller gardens. There will be many images from the speaker’s own garden to show how she’s adapted concepts for smaller spaces. A book signing will immediately follow this seminar.
A Bouquet of Spring Bulbs
Sunday, February 12 at 12:45 pm in the Hood Room
Spring bulbs provide some of our earliest color; an extravagant display of spring bloom can be both provocative and inspiring. Make a personal statement in your garden by combining a wide variety of bulbs of different shapes, sizes and colors – and learn how to design a bulb scheme that serves as a spring extension of your garden’s perennial and shrub borders. Discover new container ideas for bulbs, too. These plants are low maintenance and exceptionally rewarding, providing plenty of bang for your buck. A book signing will immediately follow this seminar.
